Welcome,

We’re thrilled to have you!

It started with a need.

Our journey began in 1996, during the Olympics in Atlanta, GA. Coach Pat and Beth Murphy, co-owners of Chattahoochee Gold Swimming, were volunteering at the event when they learned about a significant challenge: visiting teams needed access to Olympic-sized pools, with the nearest one being 30 miles away at Georgia Tech.

Seizing the opportunity, the Murphys approached the city of Woodstock with a proposal. The community rallied together, eager to contribute to the Olympic spirit. The local bank arranged a loan, and Woodstock provided us with an acre of land. Remarkably, within 60 days, the original pool was built—its paint still wet when the Belarusian Olympic team arrived for their two-week training camp, staying with local families. Here is an aerial shot of the facility back in the 90’s.

From those modest beginnings in 1996, we have grown and expanded. Today, we operate a private facility dedicated to supporting the same community that helped make our dream a reality. Our associated swim team trains across three locations, including our Woodstock Aquatic Center. As we continue to evolve, we look forward to the future of swimming with great excitement for our swimmers' journey ahead.

Our Swim Lesson Program, the Gold Swim School, has helped thousands of individuals learn to swim and become more confident in the water through our programs. We offer lessons Monday through Saturday at various times, ensuring flexibility for all schedules.

We have been advocating for and teaching swim safety with dedication. Located at the Aquatic Center in Downtown Woodstock, Gold Swim School specializes in providing fun and engaging swim lessons for all ages. Our instructors are highly trained professional swim teachers who are passionate about imparting lifesaving skills in a safe and enjoyable environment.

Gold Swim School has proudly served the community since its inception. Beyond teaching safe swimming with a smile, we focus on creating a supportive community environment and actively engage in community events, fund donations, and volunteer efforts. As we continue to grow, we remain excited about the future and committed to the safety and enjoyment of our swimmers.
